What is Physical Fitness?

Most people have been led to believe that changing your body just involves strict dieting.


Healthy and consistent nutrition is a huge part, but without exercise, you wouldn't be able to achieve the actual body shape you want.


So what is this balanced state of having a perfect diet and body? It's called being fit!


Let us begin with understanding the first few questions you need to ask and explore answers to before you start your Fitness Journey!



What do you understand by 'Fitness'?



Physical fitness is described as a state of health and well-being. To be specific, it is the ability to perform daily activities effortlessly. In a nutshell, proper nutrition, moderate to vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest is required to achieve physical fitness. 


According to a survey conducted, it was found that almost two-thirds (64%) of Indians do not exercise. Most of the people said it was because of excessive workload, poor time management and lack of motivation.


Dr. Upendra Kaul, chairman of the cardiology unit, Batra Hospital, Delhi said that the maximum number of patients aged between 25-45 that are admitted to the Emergency Ward have sedentary lifestyles.


Average person's stress leads to poor eating habits, odd hours of sleep and the inability to exercise. It is not surprising that India is the most depressed country in the world. In order to improve your mental health, physical exercises are recommended. This is because they tend to release endorphins in your brain. As a result, you gain a sense of achievement. 


To sum it up, fitness is no longer limited to one's physical state of being. It also includes mental and emotional well-being. 



The 'Health and Fitness' industry is not a clearly defined industry. It has many aspects to it, and it overlaps into many different fields. Fitness is no more than just building a healthy body. It is about building a healthy lifestyle with a sustainable approach. 


You will know what being fit is, learn healthy habits that you can incorporate, know more about food science, understand your fitness goals, and most importantly, you will know how to achieve them.
