Your genetics decide where your body will deposit fats and most Indians are genetically predisposed to storing fat in the belly.  Now, since you cannot change where your body will store fats, what you CAN do is level up your fitness education. The truth is that everyone has abs. They are behind the layer of skin around your belly. When you work your abs out, they strengthen and grow bigger. 

When you burn fats, the gap between the ab muscles and the outer layer of the skin gets smaller, and at one point, you will have a flat stomach with six-pack abs. The only way to burn fats is by having a strict diet.

For the right diet, you need to take care of 3 things- calories, carbs, and proteins.

 

Calories -

 

Every individual has a maintenance calorie level. If you go above that, you will gain start gaining weight. Count your calorie intake and slowly start reducing it and you will see an effect.

 

Carbohydrates -

 

There are two types of carbs: Good carbs (complex) and bad carbs (simple). 

The good carbs break down slowly and give little amounts of energy for a long duration of time. However, the bad carbs break down quickly to release instant energy. The body gets confused about how to use all that energy and most of it gets stored as fats. 

Avoid sugar, white rice, flour, and potatoes, and replace them with whole wheat, brown rice, oats, and sweet potatoes.

 

Proteins -

 

 

Everyone has different speeds of losing weight, depending on lean muscle mass and metabolism. The more lean mass you have, the more calories your body needs to maintain that lean muscle mass. 

For lean muscle mass, you just NEED to center your diet around proteins. So, with training and a protein diet, you generate a lean muscle mass which results in a higher burning of calories.

 

Essentially, you need to remember only a few key points in order to reduce fats easily. Instead of giving in to the fitness gimmicks in the media, understand the science behind fat loss, and listen to your body and mind to understand what suits you best and you will surely achieve the desired rseults!
