1. Choose the Gym near your house: 


It may sound obvious to some of you but it is a very crucial point. You should always choose a gym that's near your house, mainly for two reasons. Firstly if the gym is within walking distance from your house, travel won’t be a demotivating factor anymore. You can just grab your gym bag and go workout even on the days when you’re feeling lazy.




Secondly, the walk-up to the gym is the perfect kind of warm-up for you before the weight training sessions. 


2. The Gym should have a good quality squat rack: 


This point is important specifically for India because lots of gyms in the country only use Smith machines which are used for advanced level lifting and not for beginners. The squat rack is the perfect equipment for you ladies to get started.

If you are choosing the gym based on the fancy equipment present there then you're doing it wrong. The only things you should really be looking for are the basic and essential equipment such as,

  • Good quality squat rack, 

  • Barbell, 

  • Heavy Olympic plates and 

  • Simple dumbbells.

With this basic equipment, you can lose kilos in a jiffy.
