Who does not want healthy lustrous hair? But if not taken proper care, hair might stop growing after a point.


Slowly, you may start experiencing dandruff, hair fall, dryness and dullness. However, it is not impossible to maintain and improve the health of your hair.


Here are 10 best tips that will enhance the growth of your hair and improve their quality.


1. Hydration:



Hydration is the key to well-balanced and healthy hair. You may be using hydrating hair care products and oils, but drinking at least 3 litres of water every day will help you maintain good hair health.


2. Eating Right:



You are what you eat. Your hair is mostly made up of protein, so eating a balanced diet that is rich in protein is important. Also, Vitamin E ensures your hair is strong and shiny. Foods rich in protein and Vitamin E are - beans, almonds, carrots, amla, coconut, spinach and fish. These will help boost collagen production, resulting in stronger strands.


3. Oiling:



Oiling hair is very important. Oiling will return and restore the shine of your hair and make it stronger. Castor, coconut and almond oils are some of the best oils you can massage your hair with. You should apply it a night before you wash them or even an hour before. Sometimes putting warm oil and massaging the scalp is necessary, this will help the hair grow.


4. Washing Correctly:



Wash your scalp properly with sulphate free shampoos. Wash your hair with lukewarm water. And after you're done, do a quick cold-water rinse to seal the cuticles shut, boost shine, and maintain healthy hair. Lather a generous amount of conditioner on your ends and let it sit for at least 10 minutes before washing. It will make your hair softer and less frizzy.


5. Silky Sleeping:



While you sleep, your hair might be fighting a battle of their own. Friction with a pillow can cause hair fall and even dandruff. To prevent this, it is advised to sleep on a pillowcase made of silk or light material to cause less friction between the fabric and your hair. In case you have long hair, tie them in a braid to have more control on your hair strands.


6. Cut To Save:



Regular haircuts will ensure that your strands stay healthy and don't break off at the ends. If you don't want to lose a lot of lengths, ask your stylist for a ‘trim’ so only the tips are cut. This will get rid of damaged ends and also maintain the length. You should go every three months if your hair is longer.


7. Style Smarter:


Styling your hair with heat tends to damage your hair. To prevent this from happening use better tools and use heat protecting spray. Let your hair dry a little naturally before you use a blow dryer so you don’t expose it to heat immediately after washing. It will prevent the hair from breakage and dryness.


8. Stress Less:



Another major reason for hair fall could be that you’re stressing a lot. Try meditating and avoid overthinking. If not for anything else, do it for those thick locks of hair.


9. Protection:


As much as the sun can damage your skin, it can damage your hair. UV rays and pollution will make your scalp oily and dirty. This can cause dandruff, hair fall, dullness and even lice! To be safe you should apply a leave-in conditioner or apply hair mist that has SPF 30 or more. Covering your hair with a scarf is also a good solution especially while travelling or in the sun.


10. Natural Masks:


There are a lot of natural ingredients found in your kitchen that can make your hair shinier, silkier, smoother and stronger. You should be applying a mask at least once a week. Eggs, avocados, yoghurt, apple cider vinegar, honey are some of the best ingredients with which you can prepare a hair mask according to your hair type and needs.
