Self-growth has become the need of the hour and requires a lot of consistent efforts to be put in. In this article, let's try to understand what self-growth is and why is it so important for our growth and better-ment.

 

Personal growth comes from within and not by scrolling through Instagram life hacks. You need to once and for all understand, that there is nothing more powerful than personal growth.

 

Why do you think Personal growth has become the need of the hour?

 

It is significant because you need a stable self-growth trajectory in order to survive these dynamic unpredictable times. In the light of having time at hand these days, let us use it for self-development. Again, Self-growth is nothing but survival. It's a constant effort towards improving oneself by adopting habits, routines and hacks which in return will yield maturity and stability.

 

How can you achieve self-growth?

 

Self-growth is a skill you need to practice consistently and it is not achieved in a day. Moreover, it is a process.

 

Let’s learn and embrace it together with 8 such tips.

 

1. Observe others and pick up good habits:

 

The influence of good people surrounding you can be a milestone in your self-growth journey. In addition to this, sometimes a third person in your life can have such a great impact on you that it can entirely change your growth graph. All you have to do is, observe people around you, talk to them about what helps them in their life, any of their good habits which have helped them throughout their life. It really makes a difference when you pick good habits from good people.

 

2. Spend 15 mins a day to retrospect and evaluate your life by asking these questions:

 

Half of the human race is in denial. Moreover, they don’t want to accept that they are not moving forward and are stuck in one place. You can change this by accepting change. You need to spend 15 minutes of your time every day with your thoughts. Sit and ask yourself some of these questions and retrospect about yourself and your growth.

 

In other words, find answers to the questions by bringing small changes in your life.

 

Questions like:

What does your life look like now?

What makes you happy in a day?

Do you think you can improve something and what are those things you can improve?

What do you want to change in yourself?

Are you working towards that change today?

Do you need any skills to aid your self-growth?

 

3. Change habits:

 

Ask yourself every day, what are your bad habits and which are the good ones.

 

Once you make a list of your good and bad habits, start working on them, one day at a time. You need to eventually stop that bad habit of yours and increase efforts towards your good habits.

 

By all means, if you think this "Did I work on reducing my bad habit today?" You will be shocked by the answer every day and will see an instant improvement.

 

4. Learn a new skill:

 

If you say you do not know how to use something or how to do something, learn it. Learn new skills. They can be anything. Think about all the tasks you say no to your mom when she asks for help because you don’t know how to do so. Learn that. Learn the smallest of skills from your mom. It is important to realize that sometimes even these small skills can become your strength one day.

 

Secondly, you can always learn more professional skills, it could be a language, some personality development skills, communication, technical skills etc.

 

Additionally, spend 20 minutes of your day to learn a new skill and see the improvement for yourself, all you need to do is “Challenge yourself".

 

5. Challenge yourself Physically:

 

At present, you can start by climbing stairs, help out at home, sweat it out at a gym or yoga, take care of your fitness and start worrying about your health NOW. In due time, challenging yourself physically will become important to run your brains and give them a mental exercise. Physically challenging yourself opens up many doors of self-growth, it is significant for a reason.

6. Take care of your health and immunity:

 

Health is important. Take care of it. It has become more crucial than ever. Take care of your health right now during the changing times of a pandemic. As long as you are working to Build immunity and invest in a nutritious lifestyle, you have one less thing to worry about.

 

A healthy person reaches different levels in their growth graph.

 

7. Manage time and make a routine:

 

A routined life works best on your journey to self-growth. Make a routine, make a list of all the tasks you wish to complete in a day, a to-do list. These two things will become your most precious companions. There is no ideal routine, you know like those who say get up early and sleep early. A routine consists of uniform things you do every day, like getting up at one fixed time, starting work at the set time, exercising and doing errands at the assigned time. Assign a time for everything and divide your day accordingly.

 

8. Work on yourself like you are a project:

 

Don’t consider this as the last option. This is a sum of everything you need to do from the above points. If you want to achieve self-growth and want to attain all the benefits of the power induced in personal growth, start thinking of yourself like a project you want to successfully complete.

 

Work on yourself as hard as you would on a work thing or a fitness deed. Work on yourself like you are a project.
